People Data Labs Alternative — Benchmark Verified

People Data Labs vs CompanyEnrich

Compare People Data Labs and CompanyEnrich across endpoints, pricing, coverage, and support. While People Data Labs is known for bulk data slices and stronger corporate-relation coverage, CompanyEnrich stands out with modern AI primitives (Semantic Search, Lookalikes, MCP), a unified credit pool across every endpoint, and deeper field-level enrichment.

Four things People Data Labs can't match

PDL doesn't have

Endpoints PDL doesn't have

Semantic Search lets you query in plain English — "B2B Fintech SaaS in the US" — instead of building filter combinations. Lookalikes return similar companies from a single domain. MCP plugs straight into AI agents.

"Tried many other tools that gave bad data. CompanyEnrich is different — semantic search and lookalike search work better than everything else tried. Used lookalike search to get ~300 companies, reached out to ~600 people, booked 3 meetings."

02 — ICP taxonomy
5 axes
vs PDL: partial

Segmentation that actually fires

Description, keywords, NAICS, technologies, and categories — not just firmographics. Segment by what a company actually does, not just industry codes.

"Top feature is B2B/B2C/SaaS categorization, something that can't be done with any database solution since companies can be in very different industries. Lookalike search is also powerful."
Oleg T. · Founder & CEO, Outbound Agency — G2 review
03 — Pricing
10×
$49 vs $100

Pricing that scales with you

$49 gets you 5,000 company enrichments vs PDL's $100 for 1,000. One unified credit pool covers every endpoint — no separate plan for search, person, or headcount.

On PDL "Sales model is a little funky. You can purchase API credits or 'slices' of the data. Both options force painful trade-offs. A custom way to access all PDL data would have been ideal."

No enterprise queue

You won't get stuck in a slow ticket queue or a rigid enterprise playbook. When something needs attention, our team works with you directly, helps debug the issue, and keeps the integration moving.

On PDL "Switched to a paid plan at $100/month. After a few days, staying well below API limits, my account was disabled. No warning or explanation given. Support was unresponsive after multiple contact attempts, even after waiting more than one week."

"Domain lookalike feature is the number one most beneficial thing. Company data is generally much more accurate than most data providers. Setup is extremely easy and takes seconds."

"Some data quality issues. Data trusts LinkedIn too much, with random LinkedIn profiles claiming to be a company's CEO when public sources don't match. No GUI for querying data, only a GUI for building the query string."

"There are a large number of duplicates in the dataset. Only API access, no web app exploration or sandbox."

Honest take

When PDL is still the right call

We're not the right fit for every workflow. Here's where People Data Labs has the edge today.

PDL leads

Bulk dataset exports

PDL offers offline data slices for ML training pipelines, data lakes, or custom downstream systems. We don't ship bulk dataset dumps — we're an API-first product.

PDL leads

Crunchbase URL coverage

In our public benchmark, PDL leads on Crunchbase URL fill rate. If your workflow specifically needs a Crunchbase link on every record, PDL is the safer pick.

PDL leads

Corporate relations

Parent / subsidiary / affiliate links are stronger on PDL. If you build org-tree dashboards or M&A intelligence, PDL has more depth here.

For everything else — the API workflows most B2B teams actually run day-to-day — CompanyEnrich is faster, more affordable, and built for how teams build today.

People Data Labs vs CompanyEnrich — FAQs

How does CompanyEnrich's pricing compare to PDL's?
CompanyEnrich starts at $49 for 5,000 company-enrichment credits — roughly 10× the value of PDL's $100 / 1,000 entry tier on a per-call basis. Just as importantly, CompanyEnrich uses a single unified credit pool across Company Enrichment, Search, Person APIs, Lookalikes, Headcount, Semantic Search, and MCP. PDL bills each endpoint as a separate subscription.
Do I need a separate plan for each API like I do with PDL?
No. Every CompanyEnrich plan grants access to every endpoint, drawn from one shared credit balance. Different endpoints consume different credit amounts based on cost-to-serve, but you never need to negotiate or upgrade per-endpoint to unlock a feature.
Does CompanyEnrich offer person/people data like PDL?
Yes — Person Enrichment, Person Search, and Reverse Email Lookup are all available, drawing from the same credit pool. PDL has historically been people-data-heavy; if absolute breadth on individual profiles is your single most important axis, run a head-to-head test on your own domains and let the data decide.
What is the MCP Server and why does it matter?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the emerging standard for connecting AI agents to tools and data. CompanyEnrich ships a native MCP server, so any MCP-compatible client — Claude, custom agents, internal tooling — can call our enrichment, search, and lookalike endpoints natively. PDL doesn't ship an MCP server today.
Can I try CompanyEnrich before committing?
Yes. There's a free tier with credits to test core endpoints. CompanyEnrich also offers a Preview API that returns redacted output so you can validate coverage on your own domain list before spending a credit.
How does CompanyEnrich's coverage compare to PDL's?
In our public benchmark on 349 real DNS-resolved domains, CompanyEnrich led on coverage (67.6% find rate vs 60.2%) and on average data depth (17.9 vs 13.7 fields per profile). PDL led on Crunchbase URL coverage and corporate-relations. Read the full benchmark for the methodology and raw data.
Does CompanyEnrich integrate with Clay?
Yes — natively. CompanyEnrich is one of Clay's recommended enrichment integrations, and reviewers regularly call out the Clay webhook flow as a reason they switched. PDL is reachable from Clay too, but typically through a generic webhook configuration rather than a native integration.
What if my workflow needs bulk dataset exports?
CompanyEnrich is API-first — we don't ship offline dataset slices today. If your pipeline genuinely needs raw bulk dumps for ML training or a data lake, PDL is the better technical fit. If you're enriching, segmenting, or powering a product with live API calls, CompanyEnrich is the more affordable and more flexible choice.
