Deal sourcing

Turn your investment thesis into a search

Your thesis is more specific than an industry label. Describe the businesses you want to find, then narrow by location, company size, funding stage, and technology. Exclude companies you have already reviewed and build a sourcing list around your criteria.

VC & investor FAQs

How can venture capital and investment teams use CompanyEnrich?
Use company and people data to source businesses that match your investment thesis, map a market, research founders, review funding history, and follow companies on a portfolio or watchlist. CompanyEnrich provides the data through APIs and MCP for the research workflows you build.
Can I search using my investment thesis?
Yes. The Company Search API supports natural-language semantic search alongside structured filters for industry, location, size, technology, and funding. For example, describe a specific business model, then restrict the search to the geographies and company stages you cover.
Can I find companies similar to one I am researching?
Yes. Give the Similar Companies API one or more company domains. It returns similar company profiles and similarity scores based on business attributes. Use the results as a starting point for a market map or competitor research, then review each business for relevance.
What can I learn about founders and leadership teams?
The People Search API lets you find people by title, seniority, company, and location. Profiles include current roles, professional profile links, and employment history where available. Current company and role start-date filters can help you find people in new positions.
What funding data is available?
Available funding fields include total raised, funding stage, round dates, amounts, and investor names. You can filter companies by stage, raise size, date, and investor, or enrich a known company domain. Field availability varies by company; see the Company Funding API for coverage and examples.
How should I interpret headcount and hiring data?
Headcount reflects employees observed in our people dataset and includes available monthly history and department breakdowns. Job postings show the roles a company is advertising. Use these alongside other research to understand team development; they do not directly measure revenue, profitability, or investment performance.
How do I monitor portfolio and watchlist companies?
Run enrichment, workforce, people, and job queries on a schedule in your own system. Store snapshots, compare the returned data, and use your workflow to flag relevant changes. The APIs supply the data; scheduling, comparisons, and notifications are handled by the workflow you build.
Can I connect the data to an AI research assistant?
Yes. Connect the MCP server to a compatible AI client for company enrichment, company search, lookalikes, and people search. Use the REST APIs for additional endpoints and custom research workflows. See CompanyEnrich for AI agents.
Does People Search include founder email addresses?
Search results do not include email addresses or phone numbers. Work email lookup is a separate, optional step in beta, billed separately from search. You can select a person from the search results and look up their work email, where available.
Can I evaluate coverage before building a workflow?
Yes. Start with a sample of companies your team already knows, then check the returned profiles and fields against your research needs. You can also review our published benchmarks and data sourcing information. See pricing for current plans and credit costs.
