Best Crustdata Alternatives in 2026: 6 APIs Tested
Crustdata alternatives tested in two benchmarks: where CompanyEnrich, Coresignal, PDL, FullEnrich, Apollo, and Prospeo beat Crustdata, and where they fail.
Summarize this blog post with
Crustdata is one of the newer names in B2B data. A Y Combinator company from the Fall 2024 batch, it sells real-time company and people data to sales, recruiting, investment, and engineering teams. Still, plenty of those teams end up searching for Crustdata alternatives.
Usually one of three things sends them looking. The first is buying: Crustdata publishes no prices, so a test starts with a demo. The second is company enrichment: for half of the domains in our test, Crustdata returned nothing, and when it did return a profile, technologies, phone numbers, and a usable industry taxonomy were missing. The third is discovery: no plain-English search, no lookalike endpoint, no way to preview results before spending credits. And since Crustdata is a bundle of products rather than one (company and people enrichment, company and people search, jobs, posts, a Watcher API, and bulk datasets), which alternative fits depends on which piece of the bundle you are swapping out.
Everything below rests on two public benchmarks that put Crustdata and six alternatives through the same tests, plus Crustdata's own product and pricing pages. By the end you will know:
- What Crustdata is genuinely good at
- Where Crustdata falls short
- How six alternatives compare to Crustdata
Which Crustdata Alternative Fits Your Use Case?
Short answer: If the job is company enrichment, CompanyEnrich covered the most domains and returned the fullest profiles in our test, and Crustdata covered the fewest. If the job is finding decision-makers, CompanyEnrich resolved the same share of companies as Crustdata for 3.6 times less per correct profile. Coresignal is the nearest match for Crustdata's datasets, jobs data, and recruiting use, with People Data Labs as the second dataset option and the pick for investment research that hinges on Crunchbase links and corporate relations. Apollo suits a sales team that wants an app, and FullEnrich is the specialist for emails and mobile numbers. If what you really want is to try before a sales call, CompanyEnrich, Coresignal, and Prospeo all publish their prices and let you start on your own.
| If you use Crustdata for... | Best alternative | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Company enrichment by domain | CompanyEnrich | Highest find rate and deepest profiles of six tested providers; Crustdata had the lowest find rate |
| Finding decision-makers at target accounts | CompanyEnrich | Same coverage as Crustdata, 88.0% against 87.8%, at 3.6 times lower cost per correct profile |
| Bulk datasets | Coresignal or People Data Labs | Both sell dataset delivery alongside their APIs |
| Jobs, hiring signals, and recruiting data | Coresignal | Job postings at 1 credit each, with employee and company datasets on the same data |
| Investment research and corporate relations | People Data Labs | Led LinkedIn URL, Crunchbase URL, and parent and subsidiary coverage in the enrichment benchmark |
| A sales team that wants an app | Apollo | Data, sequences, and CRM sync in one product |
| Work emails and mobile numbers | FullEnrich | Queries multiple sources and charges only when data is found |
| A self-serve start with public pricing | CompanyEnrich, Coresignal, or Prospeo | Free tier or trial plus a published price list; Crustdata starts with a demo |
Bottom line: Crustdata is hard to beat on people search, so a wholesale switch rarely makes sense. The strong cases for moving are company enrichment, price, and how you buy, and each of those points to a different provider.
Watch: Crustdata Review and Alternatives
Prefer to watch first? The video below goes through Crustdata's endpoints, pricing, and coverage, then looks at three alternatives.
How We Tested These Crustdata Alternatives
Every provider in this guide went through the same two tests as Crustdata, with the same inputs and the same scoring, so no number here comes from a vendor's own claims. Where a benchmark cannot see, such as pricing and packaging, we read each provider's public pricing and documentation pages. Crustdata has no reviews on G2 yet, so nothing here quotes a user review.
- Company enrichment benchmark, May 2026: we sent the same 349 DNS-resolved domains, sampled at random from the Majestic Million, to six enrichment APIs and recorded whether each returned a profile and which of 27 standard fields it filled. The result is a coverage and completeness score, not a check that every value was right.
- People search benchmark, August 31, 2026: seven APIs looked for the current CEO or founder at the same 502 active YC companies, and every profile they returned was checked against HarvestAPI and marked correct, stale, wrong, or unresolved. The score tells you whether a provider hands back the right person today.
- Pricing: read from each provider's public pricing page in September 2026. Benchmark costs are modeled on roughly comparable $500 tiers.
One caveat travels with every number below. The people search cohort is recently funded startups and a single title, so a provider that shines there may look different on enterprises, local businesses, or accounts outside the US. Rerun the test on your own records before you decide anything.
What Is Crustdata, and What Is It Good At?
Crustdata is a real-time B2B data provider that sells company and people data through APIs, bulk datasets, and an MCP server. Its product list covers company and people enrichment, company and people search, a Jobs API, a Posts API, and a Watcher API that sends alerts when tracked companies or people change. It pitches itself to sales and AI SDR teams, recruiters, investors, and engineering teams building data products, and it positions its data as fresher than the exports most providers sell.

Crustdata earns its place on several jobs, and a fair comparison starts with those.
Current People Data
Crustdata found more correct profiles than any provider in our people search benchmark, 825 of the 933 that at least one provider returned, and it was the only provider with zero stale results. If a former CEO in your CRM does more damage than an empty row, Crustdata's people search is the benchmark's best answer.
Change Monitoring and Hiring Signals
The Watcher API is a workflow most data providers do not offer: you subscribe to companies or people and receive a webhook when something changes, such as a job move, a headcount shift, or a new posting. Together with the Jobs and Posts APIs, that makes Crustdata a strong fit for signal-driven outbound and deal sourcing.
Revenue and Crunchbase Fields
In our company enrichment benchmark, Crustdata tied for the lead on revenue coverage at 45.6% and was second on Crunchbase URLs at 35.2%. It also returned follower counts where several providers did not. For investment research, those are the fields that matter.
Datasets and APIs on the Same Data
Crustdata sells company and people datasets as flat files, refreshed monthly, alongside the APIs. A team that wants a bulk base layer plus a live API from one vendor has a short list of options, and Crustdata is on it.
Where Does Crustdata Fall Short?
Its gaps cluster in three areas: how many companies it can enrich, how much it returns when it does, and how it sells.
Company Enrichment Coverage
Crustdata returned a company profile for 50.1% of the 349 test domains, or 175 of 349, the lowest find rate of six providers. Every other provider covered more domains, and the leader covered 67.6%.

In a signup or CRM enrichment flow, that hit rate means half of the domains you send come back empty and need a second source.
Company Profile Depth
When Crustdata did return a profile, it averaged 13.0 of 27 fields, the second-thinnest of six providers. Three fields were empty for every tested domain: technologies, company phone, and corporate relations. Its industry taxonomy category averaged 15.7%, the lowest in the test, and its core identity category, which covers name, logo, description, and keywords, averaged 30.1%, against 67.6% for the leader.
How You Buy
Crustdata publishes no price list. Its pricing page offers a demo for API access and a sample request for datasets, so you cannot estimate a budget or run a test without talking to sales. In our August 2026 snapshot, its credit cost $0.30, the highest per-credit price of the seven providers, though its credits went far enough that the cost per correct profile still landed third-lowest. There is no self-serve free tier.
No Plain-English Search or Lookalike Discovery
Crustdata's search APIs are filter-based. It does not offer a natural-language company search, a lookalike company endpoint, or a free preview of search results before you spend credits. Several alternatives on this list offer at least one of those, so this is a Crustdata gap rather than a unique advantage of any one competitor.
Best Crustdata Alternatives in 2026
The six providers below are ordered by how much of Crustdata each one can take over. The first two cover its two halves, the live APIs and the datasets. The next one is the established dataset vendor. The last three are specialists: a sales app, a contact-data waterfall, and a budget lookup tool. Each section lays out what the provider does better than Crustdata, where it falls behind, which Crustdata endpoints it can stand in for, and a table with both providers' benchmark numbers so nothing rests on assertion.
1. CompanyEnrich: Best Overall Crustdata Replacement for Enrichment and People Search APIs

CompanyEnrich covers the same live endpoints as Crustdata, company enrichment, company search, person search, person enrichment, and contact finding, from a single credit balance with prices on the website. In the enrichment benchmark it covered more domains and returned fuller profiles than any provider, and in people search it resolved as many companies as Crustdata at the lowest cost per correct profile in the test.
What CompanyEnrich is good for
- Company enrichment by domain: a 67.6% find rate against Crustdata's 50.1%, and 17.9 of 27 fields per profile against 13.0.
- Fields Crustdata left empty: technologies at 60.2% against 0.0%, company phone at 53.9% against 0.0%, and an industry taxonomy category of 50.5% against 15.7%.
- Finding decision-makers at scale: 442 companies resolved against Crustdata's 441, at $0.0027 per correct profile against $0.0098.
- Discovery Crustdata does not offer: semantic company search in plain English, a Similar Companies API for lookalikes, and a free Preview API for search and lookalike queries.
- Self-serve start: a 500-credit trial and public pricing, with no demo required.
- AI agents: an MCP server maintained by CompanyEnrich itself.
Where CompanyEnrich may fail
- Stale profiles: 27 in the people search results, against Crustdata's zero. If a stale contact is expensive in your workflow, verify currentness or keep Crustdata for that step.
- Correct profiles in total: 809 against Crustdata's 825, so Crustdata found slightly more people across the same companies.
- Bulk datasets and change alerts: CompanyEnrich is API-only, with no dataset delivery and no Watcher-style webhook alerts.
- Revenue and Crunchbase URLs: 37.0% and 7.4%, against Crustdata's 45.6% and 35.2%.
Which Crustdata endpoints CompanyEnrich can replace
- Company Enrichment and Company Search, with higher coverage on both.
- People Search and People Enrichment, at a lower cost per correct profile.
- Contact fields, through the separate Find Email and Find Mobile endpoints.
CompanyEnrich vs Crustdata: benchmark results
On company enrichment, CompanyEnrich returned a profile for 67.6% of domains with 17.9 of 27 fields on average, the best of six providers on both counts, while Crustdata sat last on find rate. On people search, CompanyEnrich returned a correct profile for 88.0% of companies and Crustdata for 87.8%, at $0.0027 and $0.0098 per correct profile. Across the six rows below, Crustdata leads on correct profiles and stale profiles and CompanyEnrich leads the rest.
| Metric | CompanyEnrich | Crustdata |
|---|---|---|
| Company enrichment find rate | 67.6% | 50.1% |
| Avg fields per returned profile | 17.9 / 27 | 13.0 / 27 |
| Companies with a correct profile | 88.0% | 87.8% |
| Correct profiles found | 809 | 825 |
| Stale profiles | 27 | 0 |
| Cost per correct profile | $0.0027 | $0.0098 |
CompanyEnrich pricing
The free trial comes with 500 credits. Paid plans are $49 per month for 5,000 credits, $149 for 50,000, and $549 for 500,000, which works out to $0.0011 per credit at the top tier. One balance pays for every endpoint: a company enrichment call is 1 credit, a people search profile 2.
CompanyEnrich is best for
Teams that call Crustdata's APIs in production, for signup enrichment, CRM enrichment, lead routing, account scoring, or people search at volume, and builders who want B2B data inside AI agents. The head-to-head lives at Crustdata vs CompanyEnrich.
2. Coresignal: Closest Twin for Datasets, Jobs Data, and APIs With Public Pricing

Of the six, Coresignal's product looks most like Crustdata's: company, employee, and job posting data sold as datasets and as APIs, with webhooks and an MCP server on top. What differs is the buying experience. Coresignal lists its prices, opens with a 7-day trial, and charges 1 credit per job posting.
What Coresignal is good for
- Datasets with a price list: company, employee, and jobs datasets, with APIs on top of the same data, and plans from $49 per month.
- Jobs and workforce data: job postings are billed at 1 credit apiece, so pulling hiring signals across thousands of companies stays affordable.
- Fields Crustdata left empty: technologies at 29.8% and company phone at 21.8%, against 0.0% for both from Crustdata.
- Tooling API teams will recognize: Elasticsearch DSL queries, webhooks, an Agentic Search API, and a first-party MCP server.
Where Coresignal may fail
- People search breadth: a correct profile for 77.7% of companies against Crustdata's 87.8%, with no candidates at all for 105 companies.
- Unit cost: company and employee records cost 10-20 credits each, so its cost per correct profile was $0.1475 against Crustdata's $0.0098.
- Revenue and Crunchbase URLs: 0.0% and 4.0%, against Crustdata's 45.6% and 35.2%.
Which Crustdata endpoints Coresignal can replace
- The company and people datasets, on a public price list.
- The Jobs API, for hiring signals and labor market analysis.
- Company Search and People Search, for data-team workflows that can tolerate lower people coverage.
Coresignal vs Crustdata: benchmark results
Coresignal edged Crustdata on company enrichment, returning a profile for 50.4% of domains with 14.2 of 27 fields on average against 50.1% and 13.0. On people search the gap runs the other way: a correct profile for 77.7% of companies against Crustdata's 87.8%, at 15 times the cost per correct profile. In the table, Crustdata takes every people search row and Coresignal takes the two enrichment rows.
| Metric | Coresignal | Crustdata |
|---|---|---|
| Company enrichment find rate | 50.4% | 50.1% |
| Avg fields per returned profile | 14.2 / 27 | 13.0 / 27 |
| Companies with a correct profile | 77.7% | 87.8% |
| Correct profiles found | 676 | 825 |
| Stale profiles | 5 | 0 |
| Cost per correct profile | $0.1475 | $0.0098 |
Coresignal pricing
A 7-day free trial, then monthly plans from $49 for 2,500 credits up to $5,000 for 10 million credits. Dataset pricing is quoted separately.
Coresignal is best for
Data science, ML, workforce analytics, and recruiting teams that want what Crustdata sells in dataset form, with a price they can read before a call. See Coresignal vs CompanyEnrich for that head-to-head.
3. People Data Labs: Best for Bulk Licenses, Corporate Relations, and LinkedIn Coverage

People Data Labs (PDL) is the established dataset vendor in this group, selling person and company data to engineering and data teams since 2015 through APIs and bulk data license feeds. In the enrichment benchmark it led the exact fields Crustdata is weakest on, and its people search results were nearly as fresh, but it trailed Crustdata on people coverage and cost by a long way.
What People Data Labs is good for
- Bulk data licenses: on-premise and flat-file delivery of large person and company datasets for warehouses and ML pipelines.
- Corporate relations and LinkedIn URLs: 10.6% and 60.2%, against 0.0% and 50.1% for Crustdata.
- Company enrichment coverage: a 60.2% find rate against Crustdata's 50.1%, and the lead on employee count and company type.
- A query model developers like: SQL and Elasticsearch-style queries against the same data.
Where People Data Labs may fail
- Cost per correct profile: $0.3614, the highest of seven providers and 37 times Crustdata's $0.0098, because PDL bills about $0.28 per returned record.
- People search coverage: a correct profile for 74.5% of companies against Crustdata's 87.8%, and 688 correct profiles against 825.
- Fields it also leaves empty: technologies and company phone were 0.0% for PDL as well as Crustdata.
- No first-party MCP server: third-party connectors only.
Which Crustdata endpoints People Data Labs can replace
- The company and people datasets, for teams that need bulk licenses at scale.
- Company Enrichment, when Crunchbase links, LinkedIn URLs, or corporate relations are the fields you need.
- People Search, but only at low volume, given the cost difference.
People Data Labs vs Crustdata: benchmark results
PDL beat Crustdata on company enrichment, returning a profile for 60.2% of domains with 13.7 of 27 fields against 50.1% and 13.0. Crustdata beat PDL on people search, returning a correct profile for 87.8% of companies against 74.5%, at $0.0098 per correct profile against $0.3614. Each provider wins one benchmark in the table below.
| Metric | People Data Labs | Crustdata |
|---|---|---|
| Company enrichment find rate | 60.2% | 50.1% |
| Avg fields per returned profile | 13.7 / 27 | 13.0 / 27 |
| Companies with a correct profile | 74.5% | 87.8% |
| Correct profiles found | 688 | 825 |
| Stale profiles | 5 | 0 |
| Cost per correct profile | $0.3614 | $0.0098 |
People Data Labs pricing
Person data starts at $98 per month for 350 credits and company data at $100 per month for 1,000 records, as two separate subscriptions. The free tier allows 100 records a month with contact data hidden. Bulk data license feeds sit on the Enterprise plan.
People Data Labs is best for
Data teams that need bulk licenses or corporate relationship data and can absorb a high per-record price. For more, see People Data Labs vs CompanyEnrich and our guide to the best People Data Labs alternatives.
4. Apollo: Best for Sales Teams That Want an App

Where Crustdata sells data to feed the tools you build, Apollo is the tool: prospecting, sequences, a dialer, and CRM sync in one product, with a data API attached. It beat Crustdata comfortably on company enrichment and returned more people that no other provider found than anyone else in the test.
What Apollo is good for
- Company enrichment: a 61.6% find rate against Crustdata's 50.1%, 15.4 of 27 fields against 13.0, and the lead on technologies at 61.0% and funding signals at 10.6%.
- Unique finds: 15 correct profiles that no other provider returned, the most of seven, against Crustdata's 5.
- Sales workflows: prospecting, sequences, dialer, and CRM sync in one product, with a free plan to start.
- AI agents: an official MCP server.
Where Apollo may fail
- People search coverage: a correct profile for 83.1% of companies against Crustdata's 87.8%, and 717 correct profiles against 825.
- API-first products: paid plans include API enrichment, but wider API access sits on custom plans, and everything is priced per seat for sales users rather than per call for infrastructure.
- Crunchbase URLs and datasets: 0.0% Crunchbase coverage against Crustdata's 35.2%, and no dataset delivery.
Which Crustdata endpoints Apollo can replace
- Company and People Enrichment, for sales teams that work inside an app.
- People Search, as a backup source in a waterfall.
Apollo vs Crustdata: benchmark results
Apollo placed second of six providers on both company enrichment measures, a 61.6% find rate and 15.4 of 27 fields, where Crustdata placed last on find rate. On people search, Apollo returned a correct profile for 83.1% of companies against Crustdata's 87.8%. The table splits the same way: Apollo on enrichment and unique finds, Crustdata on people search coverage and cost.
| Metric | Apollo | Crustdata |
|---|---|---|
| Company enrichment find rate | 61.6% | 50.1% |
| Avg fields per returned profile | 15.4 / 27 | 13.0 / 27 |
| Companies with a correct profile | 83.1% | 87.8% |
| Correct profiles found | 717 | 825 |
| Unique finds | 15 | 5 |
| Cost per correct profile | $0.0173 | $0.0098 |
Apollo pricing
There is a free plan. Paid seats start at $49 per month on annual billing for Basic, which includes 30,000 credits per seat per year, then $79 for Professional and $119 for Organization, which requires at least three seats.
Apollo is best for
SDR and AE teams that want data and outreach in one tool, and data teams that need a fallback source with strong company enrichment.
5. FullEnrich: Best for Emails and Mobile Numbers

FullEnrich does one job that Crustdata treats as a field: contact data. It runs a waterfall, querying a chain of providers for each person until a verified email or phone number turns up, and it bills only when one does. If contact fields are the main thing you pull from Crustdata, a waterfall beats any single database. Its people search results were respectable too.
What FullEnrich is good for
- Emails and mobile numbers: by FullEnrich's own account it checks 25+ sources per lookup, and you pay only for the ones it finds.
- Deeper coverage per company: for the companies it found, FullEnrich returned almost two correct people each, more than any other provider tested, Crustdata included. Useful if you reach out to several people at each account.
- Self-serve start: 50 free credits and a published price list.
- Predictable billing: unused credits carry over for three months on monthly plans.
Where FullEnrich may fail
- People search coverage: a correct profile for 81.9% of companies against Crustdata's 87.8%, and 794 correct profiles against 825.
- Stale and wrong results: 7 stale and 57 wrong, against Crustdata's zero and 40.
- Bulk data and signals: no dataset delivery and no change-monitoring API.
Which Crustdata endpoints FullEnrich can replace
- The email and phone fields from People Enrichment.
- People Search, for building prospect lists.
FullEnrich vs Crustdata: benchmark results
FullEnrich returned a correct profile for 81.9% of companies and 794 correct profiles overall, third of seven providers on the latter. It was not part of the company enrichment benchmark, so the table covers people search only, and Crustdata leads every row of it.
| Metric | FullEnrich | Crustdata |
|---|---|---|
| Companies with a correct profile | 81.9% | 87.8% |
| Correct profiles found | 794 | 825 |
| Stale profiles | 7 | 0 |
| Company enrichment find rate | Not tested | 50.1% |
| Cost per correct profile | $0.0135 | $0.0098 |
FullEnrich pricing
50 free credits to start, then $55 per month for 1,000 credits. A work email uses 1 credit, a personal email 3, and a mobile number 10.
FullEnrich is best for
Outbound teams and agencies that need reachable contacts more than firmographics or signals.
6. Prospeo: Best Budget Option for Contact Lookups

Prospeo gets you verified emails at volume for less than anything else on this list, with a free plan and published prices, and it turned up the second-most people that no other provider found. Its accuracy was the weakest in the people search test, though, so it belongs behind a stronger first source rather than in front of one.
What Prospeo is good for
- Low cost: $0.0091 per correct profile, slightly below Crustdata's $0.0098 and the second-lowest of seven providers.
- Unique finds: 11 correct profiles that no other provider returned, against Crustdata's 5.
- Self-serve start: a free plan with 100 credits per month and published prices.
- Email finding: one credit buys one verified email, on data Prospeo says it refreshes every week.
Where Prospeo may fail
- Stale and wrong people: in the people search benchmark, 31 of its returned profiles had already left the role and 65 had the wrong title or company, the highest counts of seven providers, against zero and 40 for Crustdata.
- People search coverage: the lowest of seven providers, a correct profile for 73.1% of companies and 642 correct profiles in total, against 87.8% and 825 for Crustdata.
Which Crustdata endpoints Prospeo can replace
- The email lookups from People Enrichment, on a budget.
- People Search, as a secondary source.
Prospeo vs Crustdata: benchmark results
Prospeo returned a correct profile for 73.1% of companies, the lowest share of seven providers, at $0.0091 per correct profile. It was not part of the company enrichment benchmark, so the table covers people search only: Prospeo takes unique finds and cost, Crustdata takes coverage, correct profiles, and stale profiles.
| Metric | Prospeo | Crustdata |
|---|---|---|
| Companies with a correct profile | 73.1% | 87.8% |
| Correct profiles found | 642 | 825 |
| Stale profiles | 31 | 0 |
| Unique finds | 11 | 5 |
| Company enrichment find rate | Not tested | 50.1% |
| Cost per correct profile | $0.0091 | $0.0098 |
Prospeo pricing
A free plan with 100 credits a month, then per-user plans at $49 per month for 2,000 credits, $99 for 5,000, and $249 for 15,000, with 25% off on annual billing. Mobile numbers cost 10 credits each.
Prospeo is best for
Founders and small outbound teams on a budget, and anyone who wants a cheap fallback behind a stronger first source.
Why Clearbit, Clay, and Proxycurl Are Not on This List
Anyone researching Crustdata alternatives runs into three other names. None of them belongs on this list, and each reason is easy to verify.
- Clearbit cannot be bought on its own any more. Since HubSpot acquired it in late 2023, its enrichment lives inside HubSpot as Breeze Intelligence, standalone subscriptions are closed to new customers, and the free tools were switched off on April 30, 2025.
- Clay sits a layer above providers like Crustdata rather than beside them. It is an orchestration platform that pulls data from many sources, including several on this list, so it is the place you would plug a replacement into, not the replacement itself.
- Proxycurl no longer exists. After LinkedIn sued it in January 2025, it announced its closure on July 4, 2025, and Crustdata was one of the providers its customers moved to. If you came here from Proxycurl, the people search results above are the part of this guide that applies.
How Do the Crustdata Alternatives Compare Side by Side?
The sections above compare each provider with Crustdata alone. Here all seven sit in the same tables. The short version: Crustdata led people search freshness, CompanyEnrich led company enrichment and cost, and Crustdata had the lowest company enrichment find rate of the providers tested.
Company Enrichment Benchmark Results
The May 2026 company enrichment benchmark sent 349 domains to six APIs. CompanyEnrich returned a profile for 67.6% of them, then Apollo at 61.6%, People Data Labs at 60.2%, Coresignal at 50.4%, and Crustdata at 50.1%. The columns below are find rate, the average number of fields per returned profile, and how often four specific fields came back populated, all measured against the full 349 domains.
| Provider | Find rate | Avg fields | Technologies | Revenue | Crunchbase | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyEnrich | 67.6% | 17.9 / 27 | 55.6% | 60.2% | 37.0% | 7.4% |
| Apollo | 61.6% | 15.4 / 27 | 56.7% | 61.0% | 36.1% | 0.0% |
| People Data Labs | 60.2% | 13.7 / 27 | 60.2% | 0.0% | 27.2% | 38.1% |
| Coresignal | 50.4% | 14.2 / 27 | 50.4% | 29.8% | 0.0% | 4.0% |
| Crustdata | 50.1% | 13.0 / 27 | 50.1% | 0.0% | 45.6% | 35.2% |
| FullEnrich | Not tested | |||||
| Prospeo | Not tested |
Shading marks the top three in each column; the darker the green, the better. A 0.0% means the provider returned nothing for that field on any tested domain.
Crustdata's row shows the trade-off in one line: last on find rate, first on revenue, second on Crunchbase URLs. CompanyEnrich took find rate and depth, Apollo took technologies, and People Data Labs took LinkedIn URLs.
People Search Benchmark Results
The August 2026 people search benchmark asked seven APIs for the current CEO or founder at 502 YC companies. Crustdata returned the most correct profiles, 825, and the only zero stale count, while CompanyEnrich resolved one more company, 442 against 441. The columns are companies resolved, correct profiles, stale, wrong, and unique finds.
| Provider | Companies resolved | Correct profiles | Stale | Wrong | Unique finds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyEnrich | 442 (88.0%) | 809 | 27 | 49 | 3 |
| Crustdata | 441 (87.8%) | 825 | 0 | 40 | 5 |
| Apollo | 417 (83.1%) | 717 | 7 | 43 | 15 |
| FullEnrich | 411 (81.9%) | 794 | 7 | 57 | 3 |
| Coresignal | 390 (77.7%) | 676 | 5 | 31 | 1 |
| People Data Labs | 374 (74.5%) | 688 | 5 | 45 | 8 |
| Prospeo | 367 (73.1%) | 642 | 31 | 65 | 11 |
Shading marks the top three in each column; the darker the green, the better. Stale means the person had already left the role, so for stale and wrong, lower wins.
Read Crustdata and CompanyEnrich as a tie on breadth and a split on everything else. Crustdata found 16 more correct people and none who had left; CompanyEnrich resolved one more company for 3.6 times less per correct profile. Freshness goes to Crustdata, budget goes to CompanyEnrich.
What Does It Cost to Find a Decision-Maker at 10,000 Companies?
The benchmark also divided each provider's modeled spend by the number of companies where it returned a correct profile. Scaled to a 10,000-company list, that gives a rough budget for finding one decision-maker per account.
| Provider | Cost per company with a correct profile | Modeled spend for 10,000 companies |
|---|---|---|
| CompanyEnrich | $0.0049 | $49 |
| Prospeo | $0.0159 | $159 |
| Crustdata | $0.0183 | $183 |
| FullEnrich | $0.0261 | $261 |
| Apollo | $0.0297 | $297 |
| Coresignal | $0.2556 | $2,556 |
| People Data Labs | $0.6648 | $6,648 |

Crustdata's number is among the better-grounded ones here, because its credit usage came from cost fields in its own API responses rather than an estimate. Its $0.30 credit looks steep beside the others, but each credit went a long way, which is why it finished third. The gap to CompanyEnrich is about $134 per 10,000 companies at these tiers.
What to do: Put your own contract rates and query sizes into this calculation before drawing conclusions, and compare providers on cost per correct result rather than cost per credit.

Capabilities Compared
Six capabilities, seven providers: a person search API, a company enrichment API, emails and phones, change alerts by webhook, a first-party MCP server, and bulk datasets.
| Provider | Person search API | Company enrichment API | Emails and phones | Change alerts | First-party MCP | Bulk datasets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyEnrich | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| Crustdata | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes, Watcher API | Yes | Yes |
| Coresignal | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes, webhooks | Yes | Yes |
| People Data Labs | Yes | Yes | Yes, paid plans | No | No, third-party only | Yes |
| FullEnrich | Yes | Bundled with contacts | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| Apollo | Yes | Yes | Yes | Job change alerts, in-app | Yes | No |
| Prospeo | Yes | Yes | Yes | Job change tracking, in-app | Yes | No |
Crustdata has the fullest row in this grid, which is exactly why a checklist comparison flatters it. The benchmarks are where the differences show, and where its company enrichment gap appears.
How to Choose and Combine Crustdata Alternatives
Five checks before you sign anything:
- Name the Crustdata endpoint you are replacing. People search, company enrichment, the Watcher API, and datasets each point to a different alternative, and one of them has no replacement at all.
- Decide whether you need a first source or a backup. A first source needs high company coverage. A backup needs unique finds.
- Test 200-500 of your own records. Send identical inputs to every provider on your shortlist, Crustdata included.
- Compare cost per correct result. A $0.30 Crustdata credit and a $0.0011 CompanyEnrich credit tell you nothing until you divide spend by usable output.
- Read the contract terms. Credit rollover, seat minimums, which plan includes API access, and whether a price list exists at all.
Nothing forces you to pick a single provider. Three combinations the benchmark supports:
Recipe 1: Cheaper Decision-Maker Search, Same Coverage
Make CompanyEnrich the first call for people search. It resolved 442 companies to Crustdata's 441 at 3.6 times less per correct profile. Pass the companies it cannot resolve to Apollo and then Prospeo, which between them returned 26 correct profiles that no other provider found. Keep Crustdata for the accounts where a stale contact would hurt, since it was the only provider that returned none.
Recipe 2: Enrich Companies Where Crustdata Returns Nothing
Crustdata came back empty for about half of the test domains. Send those misses to CompanyEnrich's Company Enrichment API, which covered 67.6% of the same domains and filled the technologies, phone, and industry taxonomy fields Crustdata left blank. For a CRM full of half-empty company records, this is the cheapest fix available.
Recipe 3: A Dataset Base Layer With Public Pricing
Put a Coresignal dataset in your warehouse as the base layer, bought from a price list rather than a quote. Layer a real-time API on top for the records that matter today: CompanyEnrich for company enrichment on new signups and CRM accounts, or Crustdata's Watcher API if change alerts are the one piece you cannot give up. The live half of this setup is covered in our CRM enrichment guide.
When Should You Stay With Crustdata?
Sometimes the honest answer is to stay. Crustdata remains the better choice when:
- Stale contacts are your main risk. Crustdata was the only provider with zero stale profiles, and it found the most correct people.
- You depend on the Watcher API. No provider on this list offers an equivalent webhook alert on company and people changes as a standalone data API.
- Revenue or Crunchbase links are core fields. Crustdata tied for first on revenue and was second on Crunchbase URLs in our enrichment benchmark.
- You need datasets and a live API from one vendor and have already negotiated a rate that changes the cost math.
If none of those describe you, you are probably paying for a demo-gated product where a cheaper, self-serve alternative covers more of your companies.
Final Thoughts: Which Crustdata Alternative Should You Choose?
Replace one Crustdata endpoint at a time rather than the vendor. Company enrichment is where the benchmark argues most strongly for a move, because Crustdata covered the fewest domains and returned the thinnest profiles. People search is where it argues least, because Crustdata's results were the freshest in the test, and the case for CompanyEnrich there rests on cost rather than coverage.
Whatever you pick, run it beside Crustdata on 200 to 500 of your own records first. A provider that matches Crustdata's coverage for less per correct result can take the endpoint outright. One that wins on coverage but misses records Crustdata found belongs in front of Crustdata in a waterfall, with Crustdata catching the unresolved rows. And if nothing beats Crustdata on your records, stay and retest at renewal.
If you call Crustdata's API today for enrichment or people search, you can test CompanyEnrich free with 500 credits on the same records and compare the two yourself. For the wider market, our guide to the best company data APIs covers more providers.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best Crustdata alternatives in 2026?
Six providers beat Crustdata on at least one job in our benchmarks: CompanyEnrich, Coresignal, People Data Labs, Apollo, FullEnrich, and Prospeo. CompanyEnrich is the nearest replacement for Crustdata's APIs, Coresignal for its datasets and jobs data, and People Data Labs for corporate relations and LinkedIn coverage. The use-case table at the top of this guide is a better starting point than any overall ranking.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Crustdata?
In CompanyEnrich's August 2026 people search benchmark, two providers came in below Crustdata's $0.0098 per correct profile: CompanyEnrich at $0.0027 and Prospeo at $0.0091. The other four cost more per correct profile. Crustdata's $0.30 credit was the priciest of the seven, but its credits stretched further than most, so the meaningful comparison is cost per usable result, not cost per credit.
Does Crustdata publish its pricing?
No. Its pricing page offers a demo for API access and a sample request for datasets, with no price list. The $0.30 per-credit rate in our benchmark comes from an August 2026 snapshot at a roughly $500 tier. All six alternatives in this guide publish their prices.
Which Crustdata alternative is best for company enrichment?
CompanyEnrich, which led the enrichment benchmark with a 67.6% find rate and 17.9 of 27 fields per profile, against 50.1% and 13.0 for Crustdata, the lowest find rate of six providers. Apollo was the nearest runner-up at 61.6%. Crustdata still led revenue coverage and placed second on Crunchbase URLs.
Which Crustdata alternative is best for people search?
None beats Crustdata outright: it found the most correct profiles and was the only provider with zero stale results. CompanyEnrich matched its company coverage, 88.0% against 87.8%, for 3.6 times less per correct profile, which makes it the better choice when budget matters more than the last few stale contacts.
Which Crustdata alternatives offer bulk datasets?
Coresignal and People Data Labs. Coresignal sells company, employee, and job posting datasets with a public price list, and People Data Labs sells data license feeds on its Enterprise plan. CompanyEnrich, Apollo, FullEnrich, and Prospeo are API or app products without bulk dataset files.
Is there an alternative to Crustdata's Watcher API?
Not as a standalone data API. Coresignal offers webhooks, and Apollo and Prospeo track job changes inside their apps, but none of the six lets you subscribe to arbitrary companies or people and receive a webhook on any change. If Watcher is the endpoint you lean on most, keep Crustdata for it and replace the endpoints around it.
How do I migrate away from Crustdata?
List the Crustdata endpoints and fields your code actually uses, and split the Watcher subscriptions from the enrichment and search calls, because the subscriptions have no direct replacement. Then run the new provider beside Crustdata on the same records for a few weeks and compare coverage, freshness, and cost per correct result before moving any traffic.
